Is there a bigger idiot on the sports landscape right now than Marcus Vick?

The former Va. Tech quarterback has been the star attraction on the sports blotter in 2006. What else can this kid do to create a problem for himself and his family?

Vick gained tons of fame as the younger brother of superstar Michael, the former Hokie and current star of the Atlanta Falcons....and perhaps that is the problem. Marcus thought he was above the law because he was Michael's younger brother.

I don't want to go into all the problems from the past that Marcus created while enrolled at Blacksburg...I don't have enough space on this blog. All you have to do is watch the video of him stomping the leg of Louisville's star defensive player and then going into a denial mode after the game.

But Marcus Vick took the early lead of being the biggest sports jerk of 2006 when he was released from his scholarship at Virginia Tech, and then decided to hang out at a local McDonald's when he supposedly pulled a gun on some teenagers.

And the beat keeps on going for Vick....

Marcus Vick was a solid quarterback at Va. Tech, and a player that had some upside according to many NFL teams. Now, Vick finds himself S-O-L. He has declared himself eligible for the NFL, but I can't imagine many NFL executives excited about Vick and the baggage that he brings to the table.

Of course, we all said the same thing about a running back from Ohio State named Maurice Clarett. He was drafted despite all the problems surrounding him....Maurice was cut by the Broncos and now he faces charges, too.

I wouldn't touch Marcus Vick. The kid needs to grow up in a hurry. He seems to have no concept of how the real world operates. I really don't care if he plays in Canada, Europe or even the NFL for that matter.

Marcus Vick needs help. Hopefully he'll get it before he makes another stupid, harsh mistake. The only people breathing a sigh of relief in this whole mess are the officials at Virginia Tech that washed their hands of this nightmare.

The Hokies did the right thing...now it is time for Marcus to do the same.
