Cents Drive for show and putt for dough. Tiger Woods has it figured out....just look up the numbers. Tiger Woods' dominance of the PGA Tour is ridiculous. There's no question that he is a special player, and arguably the best that has ever played the game. But what becomes painfully obvious is when Tiger doesn't have his "A-game", and nobody has the guts or game to do something about it. That was never more obvious than watching the back nine of the final round of the Wachovia Championship. Tiger was OK, and that was plenty enough for the likes of Steve Stricker, Rory Sabitini, Vijay and anybody else that was afraid to mess with the man. In case anybody was keeping count, Mr. Woods has won nine of his last 12 events on the PGA Tour....somebody please step up and make it interesting. But let's get back to my opening line. I figured out that Tiger has now played in three Wachovia's....that's 12 rounds of golf at Quail Hollow. After his win on Sunday, Tiger has now won $1.586 million for his work in Charlotte. That comes to a nice sum of $132,166 per round of golf....and an amazing $ 7,342.59 per hole that Tiger has played during his "Wachovia career". Speaking of cash, it looks like the panic button has been pressed in a big way at Yankee Stadium. Are you kidding me....Roger Clemens is coming back to the Bronx? Roger Clemens said, "Well, they came and got me out of Texas and I can tell you it's a privilege to be back. I'll be talking to y'all soon." Yeah...right after you start depositing a portion of that one-year, $28 million dollar deal. Did somebody tell George Steinbrenner that "the Rocket" is going to be 45 years old later this year? It's funny how fans like to rip Barry Bonds about his production in his later years, but nobody says a word about Roger Clemens....why is that? Clemens made the comment that "I expect to do things at 45 like I did at 25." Give me a break. And you wonder why people think the Yanks try to buy championships. |
