Happy
Thanksgiving I want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I also want to remind you of Street Turkeys, which takes place on Wednesday, November 25th. This event has become a tradition for us, as we raise money and food for those in dire need during the upcoming holiday season. We'll be broadcasting live all day from the Doghouse on Wednesday (6am-7pm), and you can make any type of donation. 100% of all the proceeds will go to the local food banks, as they prepare to feed the less fortunate this holiday season. You can deliver canned goods, turkeys, cash, checks (payable to "Loaves & Fishes")....everything goes directly to Loaves & Fishes and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. We'll be deep frying turkeys in the afternoon during "PrimeTime with the Packman", so please come on down and join in the fun and festivities. If you can't make it by the Doghouse (corner of Mint and Morehead), there are two other locations to make a Street Turkeys contribution: A.G. Middle School will be conducting their "Candamonium" event in conjunction with Street Turkeys. You can make a donation at the school in the front parking lot between 9-11am on Wednesday. The Charlotte Bobcats are back as a partner with Street Turkeys, too. You can stop by the Time Warner Cable Arena on Trade Street and make a contribution between 5-7pm. Everyone that makes a donation receives two free tickets to the Bobcats game that evening vs. Toronto. I should also point out the folks in Wilmington, NC have also developed a satellite branch of Street Turkeys, so we wish them well in their first year. I plan on talking with them on Wednesday's "PrimeTime with the Packman". You can hear the show in the Wilmington market on WMFD, 630AM. To date, we've been able to raise over $300,000 and tons of food to help feed those less fortunate....be sure to help out this year with any kind of contribution or donation. Thanks for your support...and Happy Thanksgiving! |
